CEO Appointment October 2020
The board of Westgate Health Ltd is delighted to announce the appointment of Liz Hunter as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Co-operative.
Liz is a highly experienced Executive who comes to Westgate Health from her position as Head of People and Culture at State Trustees. She has previously worked in Local Council, Wintringham – Aged Care for Homeless People and the car industry in senior leadership roles.
Liz is committed to the community and currently volunteers with Prison Network and has been instrumental in setting up numerous community initiatives. She is currently the Chair of the Churches of Christ Victoria and Tasmania Board.
As the WHC Board, we are delighted to have a person with the breadth and experience Liz has to lead and manage our organisation and the broad Westgate Health Co-Op services as we move into the future.
Liz has expressed: “I am delighted to be joining you shortly in the role of CEO at Westgate Health. I have known of this organisation for many years and have always felt connected to the organisation’s purpose, ethos and values. I describe myself as a “Westie” (been here 25 years), a People leader with 25+ years in business, and a Community builder. I am looking forward to learning more about the proud history of this organisation and supporting our Board, staff and you, our members, in creating an even prouder future’.
We look forward to Liz commencing on Monday, November 23rd.

The Board would like to acknowledge and thank Allison Crunden (Deputy Chair) for her willingness to step into the Interim CEO role. This has provided support and continuity for our amazing team whilst giving Allison an understanding of the complexities of the Co-op. Allison will continue in the role until Liz commences and will provide a comprehensive handover. Allison will then remain on the Board as the Deputy Chair.

Who would have imagined that as we welcome Spring we would find ourselves in such unprecedented times, (still) grappling with the complexities of COVID-19 and Stage 4 restrictions? We sincerely hope your extended families are keeping safe and well, and that you are being kind to yourself during extended periods of lock-down. The Team at Westgate Health appreciate that these are challenging times for our members and are here to support you in any way we can.
Appointment of Chief Executive Officer to Westgate Health
The Board of Westgate Health Co-op Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Belinda Beltz as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Co-operative.
Belinda is a highly experienced Executive who comes to Westgate Health from her previous position as Managing Director of the BelRose Group, Deputy CEO of Masonic Care Tasmania and current Board Director of Lady Gowrie Tasmania.
Belinda will bring expertise and experience in Strategic Planning and Implementation, Team Building and Leadership Coaching, HR Expertise, Operations Management, Policy and Program Development, Governance, Risk Management and Compliance.
As Chair, and on behalf of the Westgate Health Co-operative Board, we are delighted to have a person with the breadth and experience Belinda has to lead and manage our organisation and the broad Westgate Health Co-op services as we move into the future.
Belinda has expressed: "I am super excited to be joining the team and am looking forward to leading Westgate Health into its next phase. My focus will be to maintain and extend our strong relationships with members and external stakeholders and ensure that the local community we provider services to are well supported in the future".
Belinda will take up her full-time duties on the 13th of January 2020. Acting Executive Officer Murray Baird will assist with a smooth transition to the new arrangements.

Report of Annual General Meeting and Declaration of Election of Directors
150 members plus met on Thursday 17 October 2019 to hear Terry Bracks from Western Chances tell the Western Chances story, to receive reports about the past year and to elect a new Board.
The new Board elected is:
Appreciation was expressed to those who served on the former Board and decided not to re-stand: Peter Grimm, Jenny Sharp and David Martin.
Gordon McLean, Pat McClean, Peter Cash and Dina Lynch were recognised with Life Memberships for decades of service to the board.
