Westgate Health BoardOur Board members draw on a wealth of experience from diverse backgrounds. They are dedicated individuals, community minded and extremely focused on guiding the evolution and running of our service to deliver excellent medical services that fully meets the needs of our community.
This is borne out through long term board members consistently having provided a steady hand in the building of a strong service with sound business fundamentals. All complimented by newly joined board members bringing innovative thinking and support to our Co-Operative.

Ross Williamson - Chair
Ross has significant Board experience, having held numerous Board Director roles or worked directly for a Board since 1996, as follows:
1992-1996: State Swimming Centre Board (Director);
1996-2001: Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre board (Secretary);
2002-2004: Geelong Golf Club Committee (EO);
2004-2010 Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club & Body Corporate Association (EO);
2012-2017: South Melbourne Market Committee (EO); and
Currently: Western Region Football League Board (Director).
Ross has had a long and varied association with volunteer committees and understands the importance of cohesive boards and the need for a clear vision to guide management.
Ross’ strengths are the ability to work cooperatively, treat people with respect, maintain relationships in tense situations and make considered decisions based on evidence.

Simon Oldham - TreasurerFor over 30 years Simon has performed management roles in both Commercial (Qantas Airways), Public Service (Department of Treasury) and Not for Profit (Independent School) environments. A diverse background, he has worked in the area of Financial and Management Accounting, Business Strategic and Financial Planning, Legal and Governance matters, Risk Management, Logistics and Resource Management, Human and Industrial Relations and Capital Works and Property Management. In the past, he has also been a Committee Member and Director of the Association of School Business Administrators (ASBA). Simon is currently responsible for Finance and Governance matters at a Not for Profit Independent School, holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Fellow member of the CPAs and a Fellow member of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Allison Crunden - Director
Allison has lived in Melbourne’s west for the past 20 years.
Allison has a background in Occupational Therapy and OHS. She is currently employed as a People & Corporate Manager and is responsible for leading Human Resource Management, Quality and Corporate Services.
Allison has also served on two committees on a voluntary basis; Angliss Childcare Centre (2 years) and Hyde Street Youth Band (4 years and currently). She has also worked for 5 years as a volunteer for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre including one year as their OHS Manager.
Allison is an excellent communicator with a strong ability to develop rapport with a wide range of people. She has strong skills in the development of systems and processes and facilitating groups and project teams.

Beverley Kennedy - Director
Having lived and worked in the western suburbs for more than 37 years and having been the recipient of the excellent care provided by the team at Westgate Health, Beverley feels passionately about "giving back" to the same organisation that supported her during a difficult time.
Beverley has extensive experience in Energy section across a range of roles including project management, organisational change, supply chain, operation and human resources.

| Tom Pere - Casual Board Member
During his
corporate career, Tom has worked in a range of Human Resource positions both
internationally and locally and across multiple business sectors. In those roles,
and as a member of various leadership teams, Tom was directly involved in setting
and guiding the organization’s people strategies. He has also led major change
initiatives in support of the business’ strategic direction.
Tom has previously been a Trustee Director for a large corporate
superannuation fund. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Organizational
Psychology and is a past graduate of the Australian Institute of Company
Directors. He is now retired.
Being domiciled in the inner western suburbs for many
years, and as a member of the Westgate Health Co-op for 10 plus years, Tom
understands the importance of having an effective, easily accessible health
service for the local community – one that maintains its viability into the
future.

Our Co-Operative is governed by a Board of dedicated volunteers that bring a wealth of commercial, not-for-profit and business skills, expertise and knowledge. It ensures we are excellent in all the services we bring to our community.
A Line in the Sand - Themes and Responses
Over the course of 2019-2020 a review was conducted of Board Governance, resulting in a series of recommendations presented as "A line in the Sand". The Board has been working on implementing actions to address the recommendations. This document summarises the recommendations and status of actions taken.
